Nicki Minaj – No Frauds Review

Well, after a couple weeks of taking nothing but ‘L’s‘, from the direct ‘fuck you’ from OG Remy Ma and Charlamagne Tha God’s ‘Donkey of the Day’, Nicki finally returns to the music.

Today, she released three tracks, two of which are solo and “No Frauds” featuring Young Money associates Drake and Lil Wayne. While I’m not a massive fan of Nicki’s solo work, I am interested to hear what the song sounds like…but, to be honest, I’m just listening to it for Weezy F.

The second I heard Canadian Murda Beatz producer tag, I knew that the beat would of interest. Murda lays down heavy 808s, quick-clapping snares, hi-hats and a glossy synth.   Nicki provides a deep, slow and aggressive verse, as well as ‘responding’ to Remy. However, Nicki’s monotone vocals and average flow doesn’t do anything for me. Drake comes through with a sing-song flow and, as always, nothing lyrically special. Wayne fucking kills it. Although his verse is slow and rinsed with auto-tune, his energy over Murda’s instrumental gives the track the boast it needed.

In all, it’s an average single. Nothing special, like I was expecting.
